Success is often measured by promotions, titles, income, and achievements. But for executive coach and entrepreneur Elaine Lou, the most important question is much simpler: whose definition of success are you living?

As founder of Elaine Lou Coaching & Consulting, Elaine has worked with more than 20,000 clients across 58 countries through coaching, leadership development, speaking, and organizational consulting. Her clients have included professionals from Fortune 500 companies, global organizations, and universities worldwide.

A First-Generation Story

Elaine is a proud first-generation Filipino American whose family immigrated from the Philippines to work in the grapevines of Central California. Growing up, she felt the pressure familiar to many children of immigrants — the belief that achievement and success were the way to honor the sacrifices of previous generations.

She excelled academically, became a three-time valedictorian, and built a fundraising career in which she raised more than $11 million for campaigns, nonprofits, and educational initiatives. But despite professional success, she began asking deeper questions about fulfillment and identity.
